Presidential Decree 0f 1959

A. Definition of Presidential Decree 1959

•Is the edict of the government decree that includes a decision ruling. Decree was issued to address a situation that endanger the safety of the country. The legal basis of the decree is an unwritten law or martial law (Staatsnood recht).

B. Background The issuance of Presidential Decree

 •Constituent Agency which was established by the results of the 1955 elections to draft constitution to replace the 1950 RI that can not complete its task.

•Many of the demands of society and the government to return to the 1945 Constitution.

•The onset of the turmoil - turmoil in the region that endanger the integrity of the State.

C. The contents of the Presidential Decree as follows: 

•- Back to Act - 1945
- 1950 are no longer effective
- Formation MPRS and DPAs

Society gave a positive response to the Presidential Decree. This situation is reinforced by the Supreme Court and the Chief of Staff. In daily command instructs the Chief of Staff to all ranks of the army to carry out and secure the Presidential Decree.
